We came back east to live in Tarrytown, Rick's home, where once again I worked for AT&T until my first son, Peter was born in December of 1961. We moved to my parents farm in Virginia in the spring of 1962. Both Rick and I went to James Madison University and got our teaching degrees. In the meantime we had 4 more sons, Bob, Patrick, Matt, and Tim (twins) then it's time to stop! We built our own home on the farm and became back to the landers. Neither Rick nor I knew anything about farming so we had a steep learning curve. We both taught, Rick, social studies and I taught English and social studies. I then switched to gifted education which was a lot of fun.
I retired 2 years ago and am having a great life. I have 6 horses which I ride and love. I have a Kayak and go with an old farts group. I am very active in the Unitarian church. I volunteer at the free clinic one day per week. I also do stained glass, pottery, water colors, and take lifelong learning classes. We travel out west once a year and go to the beach plus go up to New York to visit friends.
I have 11 grandsons, 7 natural and 4 imported. So even when the sons marry women they bring boys with them. They all live close by so I get to do things with them regularly. I love it.
As they say "life is good
